Remembering Billy Graham: Evangelist with the Lord at age 99

Remembering Billy Graham: Evangelist with the Lord at age 99

Where would you go if you died today?

By Billy Graham

The most important question any person can ever ask is this: Where will I spend eternity? Jesus put it this way: “Wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction. … But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life” (Matthew 7:13-14).
Unfortunately, many become so preoccupied with their lives right now that they never give much thought to eternity. Some even deny that there is such a thing as life after death; they are convinced that once we die, everything comes to an end. But God put within each of us an immortal soul or spirit, and although our bodies will die, we will live on—either with God in that place of joy and peace the Bible calls Heaven, or else separated from God in that place of utter hopelessness the Bible calls Hell.
Only God knows if you sincerely gave your life to Christ as a child—but listen: you don’t have to worry another minute about your eternal salvation! Instead of depending on something that may or may not have happened many years ago, turn to Jesus Christ and put your life into His hands without delay. The Bible says, “Now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation” (2 Corinthians 6:2).
Yes, you’ve missed much by leaving God out of your life all these years. Don’t make the mistake of leaving Him out of your life any longer.

It is an obvious rule of life that any action which achieves nothing is futile and meaningless. A goodness which achieves no end would be a meaningless goodness. As has been very truly said: "Unless a thing is good for something, it is good for nothing." Unless the Christian life has an aim and a goal which it is a joy to obtain, it becomes largely without meaning. He who believes in the Christian way and the Christian promise cannot believe that goodness can have no result beyond itself. - William Barclay

Don't waste your life
By Eric William King

So many of us take for granted all the material gifts we have been given or we have at our fingertips. We have been so blessed here in America. We have a roof over our head, food in our stomach, hopefully a job or two. We have car - a computer and most people a cell phone.

These are some of the many things that even the "poor" people have in America. If you were to move to a "third world country" you would learn vary fast that these blessings are no longer available. Some of us have lost one or two of our material toys and we find ourselves throwing a fit. The car breaks down, we loose satellite connections and we begin to get angry or cry.

As Christians we need to stay close to the Lord and thank Him for all that we have been given and not take any of it for granted. Most importantly we should be using all that we have been given to glorify God. If you are a Christian ask yourself; "When is the last time I said the name Jesus out loud? When is the last time I shared my faith with another?"

I see so many friends around me who are wasting their lives in the world of sin. The way that they take care of themselves physically, mentally and spiritually. It is sad. What saddens me the most is a wasted life. I used to live that way so I can speak with experience. Before I lived out my faith I was caught up in the things of this world. The latest fad, the latest tech-toy, the latest this or that. It can wear a person out. When I began to talk to God everyday through prayer things began to change dramatically. I asked for direction when even making small decisions. Things changed and changed fast.

So what can you do to change things for the better in your life? Find God. Talk to Him in prayer. He will become your closest and most important friend. He is more than a friend, He is your Creator and true Father. Life is good when you clean up what comes out of your mouth as well as what goes into it.....no drugs. Take care of yourself. Your Heavenly Father wants you to find true happiness and peace. Try talking to Him today and see for yourself.
